LO4 Final Video

LO4 - evidence of editing

In these two pictures you can see me adding a Denoiser to a clip I did this to all the audio to make it better as there is a lot of noise happening with the music and the audio from the clips of interviews.

LO4 - Edit Log

Like explained on the Offline edit we are not doing much editing as it is a serious topic and we do not want to mask the seriousness of the subject by over editing it.

LO4 Offline Edit

This is the offline edit for our Mental Health Video, this is not much different to the final thing, as we have decided to not use much editing as we feel it is more of a formal product, as it is a documentary and it is about a serious subject and is something to be taken serious and we do not want to put the wrong impression across. So we decided to just use a time lapse while we put some facts over the top to add an interesting twist to the way we are presenting as there is a lot of information being said by people across the final video. The music is also a little too loud, so we will either turn this down or take it off.

LO4 - Shot Log

LO3 - Legal and Ethical

Legal and Ethical

The only copyright considerations which we need is for the background music which we will be using to put over parts of the video like when we are doing a time lapse with facts over it as we don’t want it to just be silent whilst people are reading the facts to themselves. We will find copyright free music which means we will be able to use it without getting into trouble where we can also upload it to places like Youtube. We have also made sure that we have all permissions to film everyone in our documentary with them giving consent and signing a release and consent agreement.

Permission for filming interviewees

Age Certificate

I have looked at the BBFC ratings and compared it to our documentary to find that our documentary can be rated U as the interviews don't contain references to drugs, bad language, violence or threat, sexual behaviour as the documentary is just people giving there opinions about mental health where they've kept it clean the people we interviewed so it can especially be shown to younger children to try and raise awareness.

LO3 Task 4 - Rushes

Clip 1: 0:00 - 3:38

This clip is of the fountain in peace gardens in Sheffield. This is going to be used for cut aways and for splitting information up. We may always use it for a time-lapse to make the video a little bit more interesting and different. The clip is very basic, it is just to be used as a way of separating parts of the film as it may drag on when we have interview after interview on. I feel the clip is good for the job it is being used for and will help the look of the overall film.

Clip 2: 3:39 - 5:31  Clip 3: 5:32 - 6:51 Clip 4: 6:52 - 11:34 Clip 5: 11:35 - 23:12 Clip 6: 23:13 - 23:14
Clip 7: 23:14 - 25:28

These clip is the interviews in the house, this is ok footage. The lighting is poor, however this can be adjusted in premiere. The footage will also need cutting up to show cut out me interviewing and for the silences that are not useful for the  film and will just extend the time of the film for no reason. However I  feel the responses in clip 3 and 4 from John Richardson are very good. I also feel that the fact we use someone who suffers from both mental and physical disabilities to get a response helps impact, as we see from his responses that he struggles to grasp the concept, which helps show that even when they suffer from it they can find it hard to understand themselves showing that mental health is a subject that needs addressing. Clip 6 is an example of something we will not be using as it was an accidental film during a practise run.

Clip 8: 25:29 -26:23

This clip is of the police officers, this is the first attempt and they get caught off by the question and have to restart so this will not be used in the film as we re filmed.

Clip 9: 26:24 - 37:20

I feel this footage has good responses are really good and it is from people in the police force. However there is a lot of background noise as it was in some busy offices, so this is a problem however when on premiere I will attempt to reduce the background noise and possibly add background music to cover this up as the responses are too good not to use in the film.

Clip 10: 37:21- 37:25
This footage will not be used.

Clip 11: 37:26 - 37:33
This footage will not be used, as Will (The Presenter) had forgot his lines.

Clip 12: 37:34 - 37:46
This footage will not be used as Will (The Presenter)  stuttered.

Clip 13: 37:47 - 37:58 Clip 14: 37:59 - 38:09
This footage will be used as it is the introduction, it has Will (The Presenter) introducing what we are doing who is involved. This footage will be better when on premiere as the audio on this is poor however we set up a mic on Will (The Presenter)  to make the audio clearer making it easier for the audience to follow.
